Two months ago I got the question if I could develop a new logo for a new company in Holland, isphere. During their start-up they used a stock logo but that didn’t feel really right to them. Here is what I came up with, it is still a bit of work in progress but here is the general run down of the design.
Literally it’s an “i” and a sphere. The “i” has a shape that has an association with a human being. There is also a visual association in it to an on/off switch that references to their main field of operation, global IT projectmanagement. The color orange has been chosen as a reference to the Dutch origin. The typography is very straightforward, modern and strong, without becoming too formal.
There are alternatives to the main logo, a greyscale version and two versions for use when a landscape version is required.

Examples of the logo in use. For products used in communication or marketing the sphere can be used as a frame for an image related to the subject.

And this is how it works on the website. The cut-out idea is used here too.

Update:
Real life business cards just arrived.
